Stay out of trouble and learn the right way to handle issues Real Estate agents are confronted with in the course of a transaction.
Environmental Regulations can deter and lengthen a real estate transaction. Environmental due
diligence in real estate transactions involves the assessment of known, potential, and contingent
environmental liabilities and obligations associated with a parcel of property to be acquired. The
presence of hazardous building materials, including asbestos, radon and lead-based paints, in
onsite structures. Known or potential soil or groundwater contamination beneath the property
from current and historic uses. A new property owner could run into costly environmental issues
if due diligence is not practiced while purchasing the property.
This class will educate employees on the history of environmental regulations. They will learn
more about building material that utilized over the last 100 years (Lead, Asbestos, Mercury,
VOCs). The attendees will learn what types of contaminants are found in homes and how to
address them when found during a home inspection. This CORE class is designed for attendees
interested in both learning fact from fiction and practical management/remediation of common
environmental issues with residential real estate. Upon completion of this course, the attendee
will be able to navigate through a real estate transaction where environmental is- sues become a
concern or an issue.
Upon completion of this course, attendees will have gained additional knowledge that is NJ specific on a variety of regulatory topics that will give them an in depth review of the laws and rules that regulate the way business should be conducted in New Jersey. Knowledge in the areas we believe will help reduce the risk of licensees falling into areas of non-compliance
