Course Description:

This course provides real estate professionals with a practical foundation in financial literacy for both business and personal use. Topics include budgeting, debt management, tax considerations specific to real estate, savings and investment strategies, retirement planning, and estate planning essentials. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how financial decisions impact long-term stability, productivity, and retirement readiness. The course also emphasizes how improved financial literacy enhances a REALTOR®’s ability to guide clients through the financial aspects of homeownership.

Learning Objectives: • Understand and create effective personal and business budgets • Identify and manage debt, including credit scoring and lending considerations • Recognize tax implications related to real estate activities, including the role of LLCs. The course will introduce how different business structures—particularly Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)—may impact taxation, liability protection, and recordkeeping. • Formulate informed questions for financial professionals such as accountants, attorneys, and investment advisors • Identify basic retirement planning strategies and vehicles
