Upon completion of "The Code of Ethics: Our Promise of Professionalism" course, participants will be able to identify key aspirational concepts found in the Preamble to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Code of Ethics; describe general business ethics, and compare and contrast the REALTORS® Code of Ethics with business ethics, generally describe the concepts established in Articles 1, 2, 12, and 17 of the Code of Ethics; identify possible violations of the Code of Ethics specifically related to the Articles cited above, after participating in interactive learning methods (case studies, quizzes, role plays, demonstrations, and group discussions about fact scenarios); describe the professional standards process for enforcing the Code of Ethics, including the duty to arbitrate; identify critical elements of due process as they relate to Code enforcement and identify factors considered by hearing panels in procuring cause disputes. This class satisfied NAR'S REALTOR® Code of Ethics requirement.
The second part of the course Fair Housing, is to give a fact based over-view of the key issues facing REALTORS and fair housing. Many don't understand that Fair Housing is still an issue today. We will also discuss, Who & What classes are protected. Some examples of discrimination, steering/red lines, reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities. Advertising and marketing and how discrimination is not always obvious. What are some of the words that may not be so obvious. We will also discuss the Pet vs. Assistance animals vs. comfort animals. We will also show the NAR Fair Housing video, Makes us Stronger.

CE Cancellation Policy: If a course is CANCELLED, a refund check will be issued within 10 Business days. NO registration fee will be refunded for any reason on the day of the class. If a member wishes to drop out of a class, at any time, a written notice must be submitted 3 business days in advance of the starting date in order to receive a tuition refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. The notice must be e-mailed to Adriana@GreaterBergenRealtors.com  or Kathy@GreaterBergenRealtors.com . If you decide to transfer to another class, note this is a one-time courtesy at no additional charge, unless the fee for the other class is greater, a difference of payment will be required and submitted. GBR reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified prior to the event and full refunds will be issued by check.
